Production Engineer (f/m/d)

Festanstellung, Vollzeit · München

Description
We’re looking for a hands-on Production Engineer to build, test, and continuously improve the manufacturing and integration processes for our Quantum Diamond Microscope systems. In this role, you’ll translate cutting-edge designs into reliable, repeatable production units, working closely with R&D to ensure designs are manufacturable, testable, and scalable. You’ll take ownership of end-to-end assembly workflows, develop and maintain test and calibration infrastructure, and create clear, robust documentation to support consistent builds. You’ll also be responsible for identifying and driving yield, quality, and reliability improvements, and continuously refining processes as we scale production.
Who we are
Founded in 2022 as a spin-off of TU Munich, QD leverages quantum sensors to rapidly capture three-dimensional current maps within multi-layer chips. Our 30-strong team of physicists, engineers, and data scientists works side by side with major semiconductor manufacturers, helping them in chip debugging and accelerating their yield analysis. Backed by top-tier deep tech investors, semiconductor experts, and strategic public programs, we have ensured long-term stability, shifting from breakthrough to scale - and shaping the next chapter in chip testing.
Why join us?
Picture this:
  • A machine that catches what others miss – in milliseconds.
  • Physics, data, and engineering are working hand in hand to build tools that matter.
  • An international team, who loves solving hard problems and where knowledge flows fast.
Still unsure about why joining us?
  • You'll get to build a company together with a brilliant and welcoming team on a product that has never been done before.
  • Our technology is the cutting edge of tomorrow, starting today and not in 10 years.
  • You will work directly with major semiconductor companies from Day 1.
  • You'll get virtual shares and act on behalf of the entire company, beyond just your own team.
  • You’ll be part of a high-growth company backed by top-tier investors.
Let’s make the invisible visible!
What will you do
  • Assemble complex mechanical, electro-mechanical, and mechatronic systems
  • Integrate sub-assemblies into complete machines according to technical drawings and work instructions
  • Perform alignment, calibration, and fine mechanical adjustments
  • Support initial testing, troubleshooting, and debugging during machine build-up
  • Identify assembly issues and provide feedback to engineering and production teams
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, precision, and documentation
What is expected of you
  • Education as a lab technician (Labortechniker) or similar
  • 2+ years of experience in machine assembly (semiconductor, automation, robotics, or precision equipment preferred)
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, schematics, and BOMs
  • Ownership of assembly, test, and calibration processes, from design to repeatable production
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, optical, and electrical systems
  • Experience creating clear documentation and improving yield, quality, and reliability
  • Team player with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
