We are seeking a talented NV quantum sensing expert to join our team and contribute to the development of our cutting-edge sensing technology. Founded in 2022 as a spin-off of TU Munich, QD leverages quantum sensors to rapidly capture three-dimensional current maps within multi-layer chips. Our 30-strong team of physicists, engineers, and data scientists works side by side with major semiconductor manufacturers, helping them in chip debugging and accelerating their yield analysis. What will you do
  • Develop new features for our NV-based failure analysis tool based on more complex pulse sequences, pulse shaping 
  • Assist your colleagues from other engineering fields, like optical or RF engineering defining requirements from an NV-physics perspective
  • Conduct measurements on cutting-edge semiconductor devices
  • Stay updated with the latest quantum sensing trends, and provide insights for continuous improvement and push QD's performance to be as competitive as possible
  • Contribute to the documentation of design specifications, test procedures, and technical reports
What is expected of you
  • Master's degree or PhD in Physics, EE, or relevant field
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in NV quantum sensing or 3+ years of hands on NV experience and 2+ years of industry experience 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and debug
  • You are a high achiever who thrives in a fast-paced environment where things get done
  • You are collaborative, humble, and a problem-solver passionate about making an impact
The following are considered strong assets:
  • Experience in CW-ODMR
  • Experience with NV pulse sequences and AC sensing
  • Knowledge of modern semiconductor device layouts and cross-sections
